"If, to please the people, we offer
what we ourselves disapprove, how can we afterwards defend our work?
Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair. The
event is in the hand of God." - George Washington to Constitutional
Convention delegates.
Dear Dear
Patriots,
I have heard some say
that we should support one candidate or another because the alternative
is worse. While this may have been wise counsel in the past, I do not
believe that it is today.
Because the vast majority of Americans do not support either the
Republican or Democratic Presidential frontrunners, we have an historic
opportunity to stop the ever-increasing intrusion of the federal
government into our daily lives, families and faith.
Because in some states as many as 80% of the voters are "undecided," we
can begin the long road back to restoring our public Liberties. We now
have an unprecedented opportunity to reject any and all candidates that
refuse to denounce the tyrannical acts of our federal government. Our
vote will not be "wasted."
Every Patriot must, in this dire time, refuse to support what he or she
"must disapprove." Instead, every Patriot throughout this great land
needs to "raise a standard" - and that standard needs to be the
Constitution.
"Issues" do not protect our Liberty. In reality, every "issue" is
simply the federal government overstepping its limited role under our
Constitution. If we reign in our federal government, we will eliminate
almost every controversial "issue." Immigration? If we eliminate
unconstitutional social welfare programs, we will eliminate our illegal
alien problem. Education? Abortion? Stem cell research? Health care?
All are outside the few defined, delegated powers of the
federal government.
I am not presuming to tell anyone how to vote. If you have a
Republican candidate or Democratic candidate that you believe will
serve within the confines of our Constitution, by all means support
that candidate. Do not, however, vote out of fear. Fear is the
opposite of faith - faith in God. Our founding fathers firmly believed
that God (as Benjamin Franklin
said it) "governs
the affairs of men."
Therefore:
"Let
us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair. The event
is in the hand of God."
Let's roll, Patriots!
